How many panels do I need for a standard Aussie feature wall?
A typical Australian living-room feature wall is about 3m wide × 2.4m tall (7.2 m²). You'll need 3 Alpine Slats panels to cover that, vs. 6–7 standard 240×60cm panels. Use the free calculator above for exact numbers based on your wall.
Is shipping actually free right across Australia?
Yes — free shipping to every state and territory: NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT and NT. Metro postcodes typically arrive in 2–4 business days, regional in 4–7 days. Very remote postcodes (some outback WA, NT and Far North QLD) may add 2–3 days but shipping is still on us.
Will these panels handle an Aussie summer / humid climate?
Absolutely. Our MDF core is E1-grade and dimensionally stable through humidity swings — perfect for Sydney summers, Brisbane wet seasons and Melbourne's four-seasons-in-a-day weather. Just keep them away from direct water contact (bathrooms, splash zones) and unenclosed outdoor areas.
Can I install it myself, or do I need a tradie?
DIY all the way. No specialist tools required — just a level, measuring tape, and either construction adhesive (like Selleys Liquid Nails) or 38 mm gyprock screws. Most customers finish a 3-panel feature wall in 2–3 hours on a Saturday arvo. Full step-by-step guide is included in the box.
Does it actually absorb noise or is it just for looks?
Both, honestly. The black felt backing gives a sound absorption coefficient of α 0.30 — noticeably softens echo in open-plan rooms, home theatres and home offices (great for Zoom call audio). For serious acoustic performance (recording studios, sound treatment), install on 45 mm battens with mineral wool behind — that boosts absorption significantly.
Can I cut it to fit my wall?
Yep — use a fine-toothed handsaw for the timber slats and a sharp Stanley knife for the felt. The felt lip on one edge is designed to slot under the next panel, so always trim from the opposite edge to keep those invisible joins.
Is it suitable for a bathroom or laundry?
No — the MDF core and felt aren't waterproof, so keep them out of wet areas (bathrooms, shower walls, laundries near tubs). Kitchens are fine away from direct splash zones (sinks and cooktops).
What if it doesn't fit or I change my mind?
